Corton Agility Training Society was founded in 1988 by Elaine Thompson, she remains a full member and valued supporter of the club she founded 20 years ago. The Club now has a steady membership of 24 full and active members.

In the 20 years of existence we as a club have had many Successes some of which we have listed for you on our successes page.

As a club we meet regularly every Tuesday at Corton, near Wootton Bassett in Swindon, Wiltshire, to train our dogs in the art of Dog Agility.

We work our dogs following strict Club Rules & Codes of Conduct to ensure fairness, kindness and safety for all members and dogs alike.

We have four experienced and dedicated training instructors who train, monitor and advise regarding the progress of all the dogs and handlers who attend our workshops and training courses.

Our aim is to train our members and dogs in the art of Agility in safety, with kindness and patience. We also try to have some fun along the way.

We run regular assessment days for Agility Courses that we offer through the year. These start with the Foundation Course, which is a basic handling skills course involving no equipment, then there are Beginners, Improvers and Advanced Improvers Courses available to those who pass each level. Once you have reached a recommended standard you move to the workshop group for regular group practice on a full agility course with extra training and advisement.

We also encourage all our members to enter their dogs in our own club Dog of the Year competition. The winners of each group (based on points awarded at shows they have attended and been placed at throughout the year) are awarded a trophy at the end of each year in recognition of their achievement.

We hold regular committee meetings throughout the year in order to help keep the club running as smoothly as possible and hold a yearly AGM.
